Please make every effort to have your child dropped off by 7:55 AM. The driveway to the school will be blocked promptly at 8:00 AM. If you bring your child to school after that time, you will need to secure parking to walk your child to the office to sign in.
Parking will be EXTREMELY limited. Please consider parking at Riverwood Church of Christ and walking to the school. If you do park on Greenland or neighboring streets, do NOT park in front of driveways, mailboxes, or fire hydrants.
Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd will be on the field from 8:15-11:15, and 3rd, 4th, and 5th will be on the field from 11:45-2:45.
A grilled hotdog lunch will be provided by Piedmont Natural Gas and limited cafeteria lunch items will be provided. If your child does not want the provided lunch, you are welcome to send a lunch from home for your child.
Concessions will be available for purchase throughout Field Day (ranging in price from $0.25 - $1). We will have free water stations throughout the day. Be sure your Dragon has a water bottle!
Only DMES students are allowed to participate in Field Day activities! We are respectfully asking that younger brothers, sisters, etc. not be brought to the event to alleviate hurt feelings when they are not able to join in on the fun.
Please, please apply ample sunscreen to your student...it will be very hot and sunny....we don’t want fried dragons on Friday. A hat is also always a good idea!
We are excited for parents to join us, but please remember that the building will not be open to parents or guests during Field Day. We will have minimal office staff covering the front office, and we cannot accommodate the large number of guests that we anticipate to be present for the day.
If you are signed up to volunteer for field day you WILL need to check in to the office with your photo ID to get signed in for the day. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your shift to get checked in.
If you are taking your child home after Field Day, you will sign out WITH YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER-not in the front office.
