Committees
We have several committees that parents can get involved in, in any capacity. All committees report to the Board and at least one Board Member is a member of each committee. We are always looking for members to join each committee and Chairs. Please contact us if you are interested in any of the committees.
Celebrations/Appreciation Committee
The Celebrations/Appreciation Committee is responsible for managing and gathering volunteers for various hospitality activities. Sub-committees that fall in this category are bake sale, happy cart, and teacher lunches. Responsibilities include creating and distributing SignUpGenius for each need and recruiting parents to help if a SignUpGenius doesn’t fill up.
Teacher Needs Committee
The Teacher Needs Committee is focused on supporting our teachers. Aspects of this committee involve room parent coordination, recruiting testing proctors and copy room management.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is focused on distributing all PTO-related and school-related information and events to parents using a variety of media options – paper, web, email, social media.
Family Help Committee
The Family Help Committee is committed to all the activities that help families in need at Dan Mills Elementary. Areas include planning events where proceeds go to the Family Support Fund*, managing the yearly Angel Tree and coordinating our participation in the Unicycle program which collects gently used SSA to distribute to students in need.
*Dan Mills families receive assistance from The Family Support Fund year round. Families are identified by the Dan Mills staff, faculty, and administration - if your family is in need of assistance please reach out to Dan Mills’ School Counselors.
Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee is responsible for discovering new ways the PTO can engage with all school families and creating programs to teach students about diversity.
Events and Fundraising Committee
The Events and Fundraising Committee is dedicated to all events and programs the enrich our school community. Programs currently include community nights (movie on the lawn, music), Dragon Dash fun run fundraiser and collecting box tops.
Enrichment Committee
The Enrichment Committee assists in additional programs that enhance our school’s environment and community. These include after-school clubs, maintaining and using the outdoor classroom and managing school tours.
Spirit wear Committee
The Spirit Wear Committee is responsible for the supervision of designs, in person and virtual sales, inventory management, and distribution of Dan Mills Spirit Wear.
