Field Day 2022

Field Day 2022 was one for the record books!  After missing this wonderful tradition for the past two years, many of our Dragons didn't know the fun that was in store for them.  It was a day filled with joy, laughter and cotton candy literally floating in the air (special thank you to DMES parent, Hilary Lorrain, and Compass Rose Events for the cotton candy).  The kids played field games - a sack race, t-shirt relay, egg relay, and more - along with fun on inflatables.  It was a perfect way to prepare for the final week of school.

This day would not have been possible without the thoughtful planning and time put in from the Field Day committee led by DMES parent and interim PE teacher, Coach Kate Blocher.  Also, a HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers who gave of their time to set up, break down, sell concessions, spirit wear, man our nurse station, keep kids moving through activities, make sure the water stations were stocked, and more.  Our PENCIL Partner, Piedmont Gas, also showed up in full force - setting up inflatables, making and serving lunch to our students and teachers, and even some small engine repair!
